Further information

The Monastery of Saint Zenon, built in 1682, was transferred in 1996 to the Syrian Orthodox Church of Antioch. The monastery now bears the name of Saint Avgin (Saint Eugene) and continues to be run as a monastic estate. The archbishop, two nuns and three monks live there permanently. Syrian Orthodox children from all over Europe can learn the Aramaic language and the liturgy at Saint-Avgin. Continuing education courses open to all are also offered there.
