Further information

In 2018, plans were in place to demolish the small chapel in Carouge to make way for a larger eight-storey building complex. The chapel’s owner, the Free Evangelical Church, was facing financial difficulties and was no longer using the chapel. Around a hundred residents opposed the demolition by launching a petition. In 2020, the demolition was authorised by a court ruling. However, the chapel is still standing and continues to be used by the Free Evangelical Church.
